How to Rent an Awesome Ride For Your Wedding

The list of to-dos when planning a wedding is almost overwhelming. Online checklists show hundreds of line items mapped out over months or even years. Whether you’re doing it all yourself or have professional help, all these tasks can drain the delight out of coordinating your big day.

Thankfully, not all to-dos are big, daunting hullabaloos — choosing the stamp design for your invitations, for example, is a minor detail compared to picking venue. Some errands are downright fun, too. How many opportunities will you have to go cake tasting?

Then there’s choosing your wedding wheels — or did you forget about that part? While not as important as a well-tailored suit or dazzling dress, the getaway car and/or honeymoon transportation is an opportunity to show some class. Sure, you could rent a limo, but do you really want to be like everyone else? And don’t even think about cramming your new wife’s dress into your beat-up Corolla.

If you don’t know someone with a luxury vehicle, or can’t convince them to loan it to you for a couple days, fret not. There are a couple different ways to get your hands on a special car for your special day.

Where to Rent a Car

Hertz and Enterprise

Yes, the same companies that rent out $13,000 Nissan Versas also stock exotic and upscale vehicles for those in need. Enterprise offers everything from Audi Q3s to Lamborghini Huracans, while Hertz tops out at Porsche 911/Nissan GT-R territory. The prices range from about $80 per day to over $1,200 (not including insurance), but even if you go big, it’s still a whole lot cheaper than buying a supercar.

Enterprise

Keep in mind your neighborhood Enterprise or Hertz location may not have the exact vehicle you want (or any exotic models), so if you go this route, be sure to scope out the car you want well in advance of when you’ll need it.

Turo

Turo is a relatively new player in the rental car space and goes about the process differently than traditional companies. Instead of buying and storing cars at specific locations across the country, Turo simply connects vehicle owners with potential renters via an app. The idea is that people who own their own car probably don’t need it all day every day, so why not make some money loaning it out some of the time?

I’ve personally tried Turo as both an owner and a renter and I was pretty impressed with the procedure. Renters can select the day or days they’ll need a car, scroll through available models near them, then choose one at a fair price per day. Turo also has a new, wedding specific landing page where classic muscle, contemporary luxury, and photogenic cars are listed to match your taste and themes. The real lure for Turo is the daily rate, which is up to 250-percent cheaper than formal rental agencies. There’s a risk you’ll end up in a dispute with the owner or find a dirty sock in the glove compartment, but that can also happen with a standard rental car.

Car Manufacturer

If you find yourself way under budget as you’re wrapping up wedding planning (a big kudos to you for that) or you just aren’t satisfied with the models available from Turo or Enterprise, there are a number of dedicated exotic car rental stores. McLarens, Ferraris, and the big ticket Lamborghinis are all available for brief loans — just enough time for you to make some memories.

There are some drawbacks to this option, with price being the biggest kicker. Even if you stay within the allotted 50 or so miles per day, a supercar can cost upwards of $2,000 per day. Add in insurance and that refundable $7,500 (give or take a few grand) security deposit, and your bank account is hurtin’ for certain.

F1: Isack Hadjar fills the last vacant seat for the 2025 season
Hadjar is the most recent F1 promotion from the Red Bull Junior program
Izack Hadjar is the new Racing Bull driver for the F1 2025 season.

The Formula 1 driver shuffle is over, at least for now. In the last of three moves associated with the Red Bull Racing organization, Isack Hadjar was named Yuki Tsunoda's teammate on Red Bull's second F1 team, which is now called Racing Bulls.
Meet Isack Hadjar
Hadjar is the most recent promotion from the Red Bull Junior program to a seat in an F1 race car. The Junior platform, which Red Bull began in 2001, has now promoted nineteen young drivers. Among the earlier promotes are Daniel Ricciardo, Sebastian Vettel, and Max Verstappen.

Hadjar is 20 years old. He has driven for the Campos Racing team for two years and finished second in total points this year. The 2024 F2 Champion, Gabriel Bortoleto, was promoted earlier to drive for the Kick Sauber F1 team in 2025.

Mazda’s 2025 CX-70 PHEV: stylish design meets hybrid performance — does it deliver?
It's a very nice car, but I wish it was EV-only
2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV left profile view parked on gravel framed by trees.

I'm partial to good-looking vehicles and have a long-standing opinion that Mazdas usually look classier than their competition. Whether it's rounded body corners, unique paint colors, or a sportier profile, Mazdas look like they should cost more than they do. When I had the chance to drive a 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV for a week recently, it didn't disappoint in appearance. It looked great.

The CX-70 is an AWD, two-row, five-passenger version of the Mazda CX-90. It's a mid-sized SUV that looked more upscale and sportier than the other gray, black, or white compact-to-medium SUVs that make up most of the vehicles on the roads and in parking lots in northern Connecticut. The Mazda looked like it was poised to take off.

In what feels like an almost monthly occurrence, Tesla has issued yet another recall on the heels of a Cybertruck recall earlier this month. These recalls add to Tesla's number one ranking of the total number of vehicles recalled for 2024, according to iSeeCars.com recall tally, which has now crested the 5.1 million mark (Ford currently sits at number two with just under 4.4 million).

This callback marks number seven for the futuristic SUV, and also includes certain Model Y and certain Model 3 vehicles, totaling 694,304 potentially affected cars and trucks.
