Keanu Reeves has weighed in on the potential for another ‘John Wick’ movie

The franchise has become a massive success after launching quietly in 2014

After bursting into theaters in 2014 and gradually becoming a blockbuster franchise, the John Wick franchise is now expanding outside of its central character. This comes after John Wick: Chapter 4 gave the character a rather fitting ending, and as we eagerly anticipate the release of Ballerina: From the World of John Wick, which stars Ana de Armas.

As for whether we might see another proper John Wick movie at some point, star Keanu Reeves has been relatively reticent. In an interview with CBS News, Reeves said that he might have aged out of the kind of physical work the role demands. “You can never say never,” Reeves said. “My knees right now are saying ‘I can’t do another John Wick.”

The fourth movie ends with John Wick apparently dying after being shot during a climactic duel, and many see that as a fitting way for the character’s winding story to conclude. Because the ending leaves room for another installment, though, there are some who are eager for more.

Reeves has commented on the future of one of his signature characters before, saying that a fifth movie would have to feel really right for him to sign on.

“I mean, I wouldn’t do a John Wick film without [director] Chad Stahelski. We’d have to see what that looked like. For me, it feels really right that John Wick finds peace,” Reeves said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

The door is definitely not closed, but for now, it seems like another installment is unlikely.

A fun bit of historic TV trivia is that the original NBC peacock logo was first implemented in 1956 to highlight the network's new color programming. Denis Villeneuve may have made his fair share of sci-fi movies, but that doesn't mean he's comfortable with the state of modern technology. In a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times, Villeneuve explained that he doesn't allow cell phones on his sets at all.

“Cinema is an act of presence,” Villeneuve said. “When a painter paints, he has to be absolutely focused on the color he’s putting on the canvas. It’s the same with the dancer when he does a gesture. With a filmmaker, you have to do that with a crew, and everybody has to focus and be entirely in the present, listening to each other, being in relationship with each other. So cellphones are banned on my set too, since Day 1. It’s forbidden. When you say cut, you don’t want someone going to his phone to look at his Facebook account.”

Paramount Plus is one of the newer arrivals on the streaming scene, and while its roster is rolling out plenty of exciting streaming original and acquired shows, there are plenty of movies on Paramount Plus that are worth exploring. From the classic to the current and from the vintage to the very new, Paramount+ offers an excellent movie lineup that rivals any other streaming service, even Netflix.
That might seem hard to believe, but between its library of classic titles and the fact that Paramount still puts new movies out every year, there are few services that offer you more bang for your buck. Personally, I could spend all day perusing the streaming service without running out of interesting things to watch.
